Our Work

60% of Tanzania’s population is under 25—one of the youngest in the world. Yet millions of students, especially in rural areas, face barriers to quality education: poor infrastructure, inadequate resources, and hidden costs. Our integrative programs break down these barriers and equip this generation with the skills they need to address pressing challenges in their communities and beyond.

Focus Areas

Our student sponsorship program supports over 150 students each year, covering tuition, and boarding for students with financial need. Because girls in rural areas face the highest risk of dropping out, we prioritize their enrollment—over 60% of our sponsored students are girls who now have the support they need to stay in school.

Our Project-Based Learning program empowers students to tackle real-world challenges through nine hands-on courses that build critical thinking, creativity, collaboration , and leadership skills. Using design thinking, student teams explore diverse topics from DNA analysis and entrepreneurship to journalism and malaria prevention—engaging with experts, conducting interviews, and prototyping solutions.

The Result: Confident young problem-solvers ready to confront the world’s biggest challenges.

In a country where only 50% of the population has electricity and just 11% of schools have computer labs, our state-of-the-art STEM Lab is redefining what’s possible. Equipped with computers and WiFi, we train teachers in digital literacy and offer students rigorous programming courses where they develop real coding skills. From building websites to learning Photoshop and robotics, our students gain the tools to compete and thrive in a digital world.

With donor support, we’ve built libraries at Tumaini Junior and Senior Secondary Schools housing over 3,500 books collectively. Programs like “Drop Everything And Read” and our popular Graphic Novel course have sparked a culture of reading among our students—in a region with no access to public libraries. Our goal is to grow a rich collection of books by acclaimed African authors—culturally relevant titles that foster a love of reading.

Over the past 17 years, we’ve built three school campuses with classrooms, dormitories, kitchens, water wells, bathrooms, libraries, labs, sports grounds, and more—giving students the resources to learn, live, and thrive. Each campus has clean water access, vegetable gardens, and livestock to help provide nutritious daily meals.
