A Day in the Life of Our Primary Students
School break has ended, and Tumaini Junior School is back in full swing! After weeks of holiday, our students have returned eager to learn and reconnect with their teachers and friends.

TJS boarding students proudly share a tour of their dormitory

6:00 AM - TEC-sponsored boarding students wake with everything they need for success: uniforms, books, toiletries, and school supplies. Thanks to your support, they can focus on learning instead of worrying about basics.

8:00 AM - Classes begin. Second graders can be heard reading aloud in English while third graders practice long division next door.

10:40 AM - Students fuel up at tea time, play outside, and chat under the trees.
11:00 AM - Core classes continue with subjects like math, science, history, civics, Swahili and English.

Support a Student Today!

Donor-sponsored "fruit parties" bring nutritious snacks and happy smiles to Tumaini

1:00 PM - Lunch is served with rice, beans, and fresh vegetables from our school garden on the menu!

2:00 PM - Students spread across campus for an afternoon of electives including music, art class, drama club, and sports team practice.

3:20 PM - Day students head home while boarders attend study sessions, often visiting the library for help selecting books at their reading level.

Your Impact In Action

Thanks to your support last month, we raised $1,300 for our libraries—and we’re putting it to work by buying books locally!

This lets us:

  • Grow our graphic novel collection to support English language learners
  • Keep up with student demand for new stories

  • Support Tanzanian booksellers and publishers

From early readers to chapter books, our library offers something for every level—helping students build skills and a love of reading.

Help us continue filling our shelves.
