About Us
Tanzania Education Corporation supports high-quality education in partnership with Tanzanian-run schools. We believe that investing in education unlocks the potential of Tanzania’s youth to lead, innovate, and transform their communities.
Our Story
In 2004, Modest Bayo and his wife Lightness founded Tumaini Pre-Primary School in their family's living room with 17 students and an ambitious vision: to educate the future leaders of Tanzania.
Three years later, Americans Dr. Carol Hall and Dr. Frank Lee were on safari with their driver, Modest Bayo. Inspired by his vision, they founded Tanzania Education Corporation in 2007 to support Tumaini's growth.
